UPSI, 12 January – Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris signed a memorandum of agreement with three Private Higher Learning Institution to collaborate on the expansion on the Bachelor’s Degree in Education (Early Childhood) with Honours Programme.
The Vice Chancellor, Profesor Dato’ Dr. Mohammad Shatar Sabran stated that early childhood education programme is an exclusive field in UPSI.
“Therefore, the collaboration between UPSI along Islamic International College (IIC), MCS College and the International Institute of Management and Technology will be beneficial to both parties and it further establish UPSI as the best education university in the region,”.
“The Chancellor, Her Royal Highness, Tuanku Zara Salim has informed me that it should not matter how many collaborations the university aims to do with other institutions, it should matter that the university ensures its graduates live up to the prodigious nature of the scrolls and the university’s name,” he said during a welcoming speech at the event in Seri Tanjung Hall.
He also asks the cooperation of the three aforementioned education institute to emphasize the importance of ensuring the graduates produced are of high quality and capable of fulfilling the job market needs.
Through the five year long deal, UPSI, serving as the referent university, and the three Private Higher Learning Institute, will provide the opportunity to produce graduates who are well educated and professional in the field of education, particularly in the field of early childhood education
In attendance at the event are: Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mohammad Shatar Sabran, who represents UPSI; Datuk Jamaludin Hasan, who represents IIC; Tan Sri Shafie Salleh, who represents MCS and Dr. Steve Yee Seng Seen, who represents IIMAT.
