KUALA LUMPUR – Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) is organising an outreach programme to promote and disseminate the latest information on education opportunities in public and private institutions of higher learning and public skills training institutions.
The two-day event will be held at the Dewan Datuk Lope’ Hashim in Bagan Datuk, Perak beginning tomorrow from 9 am to 5 pm, with the cooperation of the Higher Education Department’s Student Admission Division.
“UPSI is constantly supporting efforts to upgrade the education of children born in Perak,” said UPSI vice-chancellor Prof Datuk Dr Md Amin Md Taff in a statement today.
Meanwhile, UPSI Academic Director Associate Professor Dr Abdul Rahim Razalli said an exhibition on education by public universities including UPSI, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UiTM), and Universiti Pertahanan Putra (UPM) will also be held.
There will also be exhibitions by Malaysia Qualifications Agency (MQA), National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN), community colleges, polytechnics, vocational colleges, Yayasan Perak, the Perak Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MAIPk) as well as health screenings.
The programme targets teachers, parents as well as B40 students in rural areas who will sit for the Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) and Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examinations.
