Tanjong Malim: META’s Centre of Embedded Education Green Technology (EduGreen@UPSI) marked a month of extraordinary achievements, showcasing its commitment to sustainability, technological innovation, and global collaboration.

The center began its impactful journey at the Green Exhibition Showcase in Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC). Recognition from the Malaysian Green Technology and Climate Change Corporation (MGTC) highlighted EduGreen@UPSI’s dedication. Collaborations with industry leaders, including Ecoclean Technology Sdn Bhd, Ark Agrotech, and Worldwide Holdings, signaled a promising trajectory for the center’s initiatives.

Simultaneously, the EduGreen@UPSI collaborated with Department of Software Engineering & Smart Technology, under META, to conduct a successful Teachers Training program for six Uzbekistan nationals. The program, spanning on-site and online sessions, exposed participants to cutting-edge technologies like IoT, AI, Green Technology, and Digital Education. The on-campus workshops and exhibition visits not only empowered the participants but also laid the foundation for future collaborations with Uzbekistan universities.

In a groundbreaking move, META’s EduGreen@UPSI, spearheaded by Professor Dr. Che Zalina Zulkifli with teams Dr. Marzita, Dr. Nor Asiah, Dr. Okta, Dr. Mad Helmi, Dr. Sumayyah, Dr. Suliana, Dr. Satria, Mrs. Hasnatul Nazuha, and Dr. Khairuddin (PPD), revolutionized environmental education through an E-Sport Program. This innovative initiative seamlessly integrated AI technology into standard commercial games, transcending disciplinary boundaries and impacting subjects like Geography, Mathematics, Science, and Bahasa Melayu. The program’s success was evident in a pilot test at SMK Hutan Melintang, where students, including Hery and Aishah, expressed their passion for environmental education through E-Sports.

The initiative gained further momentum with the presence of Sugeeta and Aishah from WWF, as well as support from local authorities PPD Bagan Datuk like Mr. Fahmi, Dr. Khairuddin, and Dr. Azhar from PPD Bagan Datuk.

EduGreen@UPSI’s achievements resonate not only within the university but also on a national and international scale. The center’s multifaceted approach, from industry collaborations to international education programs and transformative environmental initiatives, underscores its position as a leader in embedded education for green technology.
