TANJONG MALIM, 23 November 2025<\/strong> \u2013 International, Mobility and Advanced Education Centre (IMAC), Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI), successfully organised the UPSI Global Buddies Training Camp 2025 for the 2025\/2026 session at the Glamping Site, UPSI Adventure Park. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The programme aimed to strengthen teamwork, leadership skills, and overall readiness among committee members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The programme was designed to build strong bonds among the buddies, enhance communication skills, and prepare them to effectively support international student engagement at UPSI. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through a combination of structured activities and informal interactions, participants were encouraged to work collaboratively and develop a strong sense of responsibility as international students\u2019 buddies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among the highlights of the training camp were team-building and ice-breaking activities, a barbecue and campfire night, and kayaking activities, which provided opportunities for participants to strengthen trust, teamwork, and leadership in a relaxed and engaging environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Professor Dr. Ramlee Ismail, Director of IMAC UPSI, the training camp plays an important role in preparing students for their responsibilities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cUPSI Global Buddies are the frontliners in supporting international students. Programmes like this training camp help equip them with the necessary skills, confidence, and teamwork needed to create a welcoming and supportive environment on campus,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, Dr. Nor Fadila Kasim, Deputy Director of IMAC and Advisor of UPSI Global Buddies, highlighted the importance of readiness and commitment among committee members. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis training camp strengthens not only leadership and communication skills, but also the sense of responsibility and empathy required when engaging with international students from diverse backgrounds,\u201d she noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
