Tanjong Malim, 3 January 2026 \u2013 The Financial Mathematics Course, Group D, Faculty of Science and Mathematics (FSM), Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) has successfully implemented the SULAM program themed “Manage Your Money Well”, with a spirit of collaboration and creativity, which focuses on financial advocacy issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through this program, Financial Mathematics group D students play an active role in planning conceptual content, producing videos and uploading them on social media such as TikTok and Instagram applications, as well as providing infographics related to current financial issues. This program is specifically conducted to deliver messages related to finance in a creative and interesting way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under the guidance of Associate Professor Dr. Nurul Akmal Mohamed, lecturer of the Financial Mathematics group D course, students can actively participate in the process of producing digital content that uses elements of communication, technology and financial literacy. In addition, this SULAM program provides practical exposure in the use of digital platforms as an advocacy medium in addition to applying the students’ theoretical knowledge. Indirectly, this program is expected to deliver effective information to students of Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) and the local community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The SULAM program involves four sub-groups, each focusing on a specific topic, but sharing the same goal of promoting smart financial management through digital media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Group D1 focused on the issue of Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL). They produced videos and infographics to raise UPSI students’ awareness about the risks of BNPL, hidden charges, and to promote understanding of Financial Mathematics concepts such as Simple Interest and Simple Amount.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The D2 group focuses on smart investing, conveying the importance of understanding investment concepts \uff0c the use of investment websites through social media and To encourage UPSI students to participate in investment activities.. This activity aims to raise awareness among UPSI students to make more informed and prudent investment decisions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The D3 group focuses on savings and investments, conveying the importance of saving and investing wisely through social media. They introduce basic investment concepts, benefits and risks, as well as popular investment options in Malaysia such as ASB, Tabung Haji, and Gold, to help the audience make smarter decisions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The D4 group focused on daily financial management, conveying the importance of managing finances systematically and prudently through social media. This activity aims to raise students’ awareness of wise financial practices to achieve a more stable and balanced life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Overall, this program not only enhances academic knowledge but also builds interpersonal, intrapersonal, and ICT skills, as students need to plan and carry out this activity as a team. This hands-on experience enables them to deliver financial advocacy messages more effectively to the UPSI community and the surrounding society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through short videos and engaging infographics produced by each sub-group, this program clearly demonstrates the effectiveness of digital advocacy in promoting financial literacy among students, while fostering responsible financial habits for the future.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
