MALANG, INDONESIA, August 21, 2026 — Universitas Negeri Malang (UM), Indonesia, successfully hosted the International Competition on Science Learning Innovation (ICOSLI) 2026.
University Pendidikan Sultan Idris officially invited to participate in this prestigious event . The prestigious international event was officially inaugurated by Prof. Habiddin, S.Pd., M.Pd., Ph.D., underscoring the strong cross-border partnership dedicated to advancing science pedagogy. Highlighting the academic alliance between the institutions, two esteemed lecturers from the Faculty of Science and Mathematics (FSM) at UPSI served on the international evaluation panel, Dr. Anis Diyana Binti Halim as a judge for STEM Education, and Dr. Aisyah Binti Mohamad Sharif as a judge for Chemistry Education.
UPSI was represented by three student delegation teams competing across multiple categories. The team competing in the STEM Education Poster category featured Liew Zi Qing, Sharifah Nurin Hanisah Binti Syed Zulkifli, Trisha Lorena Anak Irawandi, Sharnyasree A/P Yokeeswaran, and Nurul Aisha Binti Hamdan, supervised by Dr. Anis Diyana Binti Halim.



A second team competed in the Physics Education Poster category, comprising Azhad Khalis Bin Abdul Aziz, Nurshasha Syazlin Binti Ahmad, Ahmad Azim Bin Zulkifli, Fatin Nabila Binti Shahril Nizzam, and Hooviyah A/P Manickamani, also supervised by Dr. Anis Diyana Binti Halim. The third delegation entered the Physics Education Video category, consisting of Farah Syakirah Binti Rusli, Nurul Izzah Binti Nor Azmi, Ainul Munirah Binti Alshaddad, Siti Zulaikha Binti Mohd Razali, and Tarwin A/L Murali, under the joint supervision of Dr. Anis Diyana Binti Halim and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Faridah Lisa Binti Supian.
Following rigorous evaluation rounds, two of UPSI’s entries successfully advanced to the final stage which is the STEM Education Poster team with their project titled “Community-Based STEM/Physics Education Program (STEM Outreach)”, and the Physics Education Video team featuring their project, “Full Wave Rectification Teaching Kit”. In the final awards determination, the team presenting the Full Wave Rectification Teaching Kit achieved outstanding recognition by securing 2nd Place for Best Physics Education Video.
Overall, ICOSLI 2026 represents a significant milestone in international higher education collaboration, demonstrating how cross-institutional partnerships elevate pedagogical innovation and experiential learning. By empowering future educators to design practical teaching kits and community-oriented outreach frameworks, the initiative reinforces global standards in STEM education and fosters student-led solutions for modern scientific learning environments.
