Kampung Sg. Selisek, 28 May 2025 (Wednesday) – A group of ten students from DSC2013 course at Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris successfully organised and conducted the CyberSAFE: “Lindungi Diri Dalam Dunia Siber” program at Sekolah Agama Menengah Sungai Selisek. This meaningful initiative involved more than one hundred students from form one to form three. The main objectives of the program were to raise awareness about the importance of cyber safety in education, to implement cyber awareness activities within learning institutions, and to assess the effectiveness of such programs in preventing digital threats among teenagers.

According to Mrs. Anpasrul, a representative from Maybank, Malaysia has recorded over 33,000 scam cases in 2024, with financial losses exceeding RM1.3 billion. She also introduced several engaging activities to raise student’s awareness about online scams and digital safety. These activities were designed to help students understand how scams work and how they can better protect themselves in an increasingly digital world.

The program left a significant impact on the students who are now more alert and informed about common scams and how to respond if they ever become victims.

The school expressed its sincere appreciation to students from Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) for their leadership and active involvement in the digital awareness programme. Principal Dr. Mohamad Amin bin Abu Bakar commended the initiative, describing it as a valuable platform to educate and empower students in the face of rising cyber threats. “We highly appreciate the collaboration with UPSI. Programmes like this play a crucial role in fostering digital literacy and cyber awareness among our students,” he said. Dr. Mohamad Amin also expressed hope for continued partnership between the school and the university in future initiatives.
