UPSI the Recipient of the International Education Award

UPSI, 30 Jun – Vice Chancellor, Profesor Dato’ Dr. Mohammad Shatar Sabran, along with four staff members and the entire Faculty of Music and Performance Arts, has once again brought the university into the limelight courtesy of the International Education Award (IEA) which was held at the Culture Theatre, Faculty of Music and Performance Arts (FMSP).

The recipients of said award were: Professor Dr. Sopia Md Yassin, the Director of the National Child Development Research Centre, Associate Professor  Zaharul Lailiddin Saidon, the Dean of FMSP; Dr. Rosly Jaafar, lecturer for the Faculty of Science and Mathematics, and Dr. Siti Rahaimah Ali, the senior lecturer for the Faculty of Human Development.

Other recipients include former Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research and Innovation), Professor Dato’ Dr. Noraini Idris. The awards were presented by the Minister of Labour and Social Welfare of the Republic of Kosovo, Skender Recica to Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mohammad Shatar as well as other recipients during the function.

Profesor Dato’ Dr. Mohammad Shatar stated that such a certification could serve as an effective boost of morale to the staff of UPSI as to work even harder in making the university’s aspiration of becoming the no 1 education university in the region a reality.

“We have been working in ensuring that education would remain the one of country’s main agenda and it is most certainly that teachers and educators play a key part in ensuring that the future generation would be capable of leading the country in the future and will in turn ensuring that they could contribute their legacy to the country just like our forefathers before us.”

He also added that all the staff members of the university will work just as hard without much regard for awards as their main agenda is to ensure the university would be touted as the best education university in the world which would in turn qualify it into the top 100 of the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University rankings.

The IEA was held as a token of appreciation to the contribution that educators and educational the contribution that educators and educational institutions has yielded in terms of successes to the field of education and their many contributions toward society.
