TANJONG MALIM, 5 March 2026 – International, Mobility and Advanced Education Centre (IMAC), successfully organised Iftar with International Lecturers and Students 2026/1447H at Surau Al-Falah, Aminuddin Baki College, Sultan Azlan Shah Campus.

The programme continued the success of a similar initiative held previously, which received strong participation from the international community at UPSI. The event aimed to strengthen connections between international lecturers, students, and the wider university community through a shared cultural and cultural experience.

The event began with the arrival of participants from diverse national and cultural backgrounds. A welcoming atmosphere formed as attendees interacted and engaged in meaningful conversations prior to breaking fast.

Participants then gathered to break their fast together, followed by the Maghrib and Tarawih prayers led by a master’s student from the Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kementerian Agama Republik Indonesia, KEMENAG). Non-muslim participants were also present and had the opportunity to experience the iftar setting while learning more about Ramadan practices in Malaysia.

According to Professor Dr. Ramlee bin Ismail, the programme plays an important role in promoting intercultural understanding and mutual respect among members of the university community. He stated that the initiative also provides international students with a valuable opportunity to experience local traditions and gain deeper insight into islamic practices observed during Ramadan.

Participants expressed appreciation for the opportunity to be part of the event, noting that it helped them feel more connected to the campus community while providing a meaningful cultural experience.
