Putrajaya, 19 January – Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the International Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (IESCO) for a period of three years in the hopes that it would build a network of international relations to explore the opportunities of obtaining degree and doctorate students from the Middle East.

Deputy Vice Chancellor of Student and Alumni Affairs, Associate Professor  Dr. Md Amin Md Taff state that the MoU as a response to a visit made by Middle Eastern delegates (IESCO) along with the Member of the University’s Board of Directors, (Dr.) Ahmad Sani Araby Dato’ Abdul Alim Araby, on the 22nd of March 2017 that aims to promote UPSI at the Middle East.

Also signing the memorandum in conjunction with the 1st  International Concefrence on Enhancing Educational Opportunities will be held on the 19th and 20th of January 2018 at the Putrajaya Marriot Hotel are  International Islamic University Malaysia, The National Energy University (UNITEN) and Gaza Islamic University.

The first ever conference was attended by 250 participants from 35 countries and it aims to discuss the future in maintaining the development of education in zones of conflicts.

UPSI is represented by Associate Professor Dr. Md Amin Md Taff manakala IESCO is represented by General Manager, Dr. Mahmoud Shakfa and is witnessed by the Minister of Higher Education, Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh, Head Registrar of UPSI, Dr. Hajah Zainab Othman, and Executive Management of IESCO, Mr. Abdalrahim Shehab.
