Tanjong Malim – In a dynamic display of teamwork and sportsmanship, the Perak state-level volleyball tournament named ‘UPSI Volleyball Fiesta: Masta of Spikes’ was held at Gymnasium, Campus Sultan Abdul Jalil Shah, organized by Majlis Mahasiswa Kolej Awang Had Salleh (KAHS), Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) in collaboration with Jabatan Belia dan Sukan Daerah Muallim, Pusat Transformasi Komuniti Universiti (UCTC) and Pusat Sukan UPSI, emerged as a shining example of community engagement and athletic excellence. Over the course of two day’s from 27th to 28th April, participants from across Perak showcased their talent and passion for volleyball, culminating in a celebration of camaraderie and achievement.
The program was inaugurated by the officer of Jabatan Belia dan Sukan Daerah Muallim, Siti Nurbaya Zambri, , also the program received official recognition for its commitment to promote sports as a platform for community building and youth development. From the outset, the objective was clear: to harness the power of sport to encourage bonding among communities and ignite a love and passion for volleyball among teenagers.
The event unfolded seamlessly, thanks to the dedication and meticulous planning of the program co-directors supported by 40 committee members. Participants and spectators alike were treated to thrilling matches, characterized by intense rallies and spirited competition. Each team displayed grit and determination, embodying the values of teamwork, perseverance, and fair play throughout this tournament.
Moving on to the closing ceremony of the tournament, attended by nearly 100 contestants and spectators, was a fitting conclusion to an event filled with excitement and sportsmanship. The Most Valuable Player (MVP) and Best Manager awards were bestowed upon deserving recipients, who exemplified exceptional skill, leadership, and sportsmanship throughout the tournament. These accolades not only recognized individual achievements but also served as inspiration for aspiring athletes to strive for greatness. Beyond the trophies and accolades, the true success of the program lay in the sense of unity and camaraderie it fostered among participants and spectators. Regardless of the outcome of the matches, contestants and supporters alike shared in the joy of coming together as a community to celebrate their shared passion for volleyball.
Amidst cheers and applause, the winning teams were honored with their respective awards, celebrating their achievements and hard-fought victories. The program flowed seamlessly ensuring a memorable experience for all contestants and spectators. Through the collective effort and enthusiasm of all involved, the program served as a testament to the transformative power of sport in bringing people together, fostering unity, and building stronger, healthier communities.
As the program drew to a close, organizer decided to capture the final moments of the tournament a photography session led by the program’s media committee immortalized the camaraderie and passion shared among contestants. As players, coaches, and supporters bid farewell to the tournament, they left with cherished memories and new-found friendships forged on the court.
The closing ceremony marked not only the end of a thrilling competition but also the beginning of lasting connections and the spirit of sportsmanship that will endure long after the final whistle.
