Tanjong Malim, 31 November 2025 – Eight chemistry educators embraced a refreshing approach to learning when they participated in an outdoor experiential activity at the UPSI Adventure Park.

The activity, coordinated by Dr. Muhd Ibrahim bin Muhamad Damanhuri from the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science and Mathematics, aimed to cultivate innovation, teamwork, and creativity in chemistry education through a challenge-based learning experience.

Participants were divided into small groups and engaged in a series of chemistry-themed challenges that required both scientific reasoning and collaboration. Among the activities were constructing experimental tools using natural materials, decoding chemistry clues through physical tasks, and designing innovative teaching ideas inspired by the surrounding environment.

The initiative not only strengthened participants’ understanding of chemistry concepts but also enhanced their communication, leadership, and critical-thinking skills. The educators demonstrated enthusiasm and creativity as they connected classroom knowledge with real-world contexts.

“This activity truly brought chemistry to life. We learned how innovation doesn’t only come from technology — it can also come from creativity and teamwork,” shared one of the participants.

By transforming nature into a living laboratory, this programme successfully bridged science, innovation, and experiential learning. It also reflected UPSI’s commitment to nurturing active, holistic, and forward-thinking educators who are ready to inspire the next generation of learners.
