Organised by the Higher Education Leadership Academy (AKEPT) and Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS), with strategic collaboration from Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), and Universiti Pertahanan Nasional Malaysia (UPNM), the programme brought together 110 student delegates from 11 ASEAN countries.

It served as a platform to nurture future-ready youth leaders grounded in the values of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) and sustainability.
UPSI was represented by thirteen students, comprising eight UPSI Global Buddies committee members who served throughout the programme. Of these, two students from UPSI Global Buddies and three students from the Majlis Perwakilan Pelajar (MPP) UPSI participated as official delegates of YouLead 2025.

According to Senior Deputy Registrar of IMAC, Ikmal Redzuan Mohd Isa, the programme aimed to strengthen international exposure and leadership capacity among UPSI students.
“Through participation in high-impact international leadership programmes such as YouLead, UPSI continues to expand global mobility opportunities,” he said.
A highlight of the programme was the participation of UPSI’s Vice Chancellor, Professor Datuk Dr. Md Amin Md Taff, as a distinguished speaker for a leadership forum titled “Nurturing Young Leaders in Higher Education: Challenges and Hopes.” His session provided valuable insights into leadership development while inspiring students to embrace ethical, resilient, and responsible leadership.
