Kuala Lumpur, 5 June – Nearly 100 media practitioners were celebrated in a “Majlis Berbuka Puasa UPSI Bersama Media” function which was held at the Park Royal Hotel, Kuala Lumpur.
Vice Chancellor, Professor Dato’ Dr. Mohammad Shatar Sabran stated that the breaking fast ceremony was held as a token of appreciation toward the media’s mutual collaboration with the representatives of UPSI.
“We [UPSI] had organized this function as a mean to show our appreciation and as a sign of gratitude toward the media for their unabashed support as well as serving as a mean to further strengthen our relationship with the media,” he explained.
He also added that after deliberating with colleagues in the field of media, UPSI is in the middle of creating a “City Campus” in Puchong as a mean to facilitate the media in doing a comprehensive coverage regarding product launches, press conferences, activities, et cetera.
“We are convinced that with the help and commitment from our media colleagues, our [UPSI] aspirations to becoming the No.1 education university will be a reality,” he further elaborated.
The ceremony began with a breaking fast feast, and briefly veers into the Maghrib prayer before it was followed by a meet and greet session between UPSI’s management and the media practitioners.
Also attending are, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic and International), Professor Dr. Mohd Sahandri Gani Hamzah, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Student and Alumni) Affairs, Associate Professor Dr. Md Amin Md Taff and Registrar, Dr. Hajah Zainab Othman.
